Calm your body and breath

At the starting of your meditation session, you will need to calm your body and breath. Your mind, body and breath are interconnected, so when you relax your body and calm your breathing, your mind will also come down. That’s why in yoga, you work with postures or asanas and breathing regulation or pranayama. Do the yoga asanas for 5 to 10 minutes or you can take five full breaths where you breathe in through the nose and out through your mouth. If you perform the asanas, after that for five minutes practice deep breathing exercises.

Make your mind glad

Before you start your meditation, if you can make your mind glad and happy, it will help you to go deeper in meditation. When you have a good feeling, it’s like sending a message to your brain that everything is okay and taken care of and it doesn’t have to be restless. Such a situation will help you to calm your mind easily and focus more on the meditation. It will be easier on your part to medicate deeply when you do not have anything to worry about. There are different ways you can make your mind happy. By thinking about a good and positive memory or a positive thought, you will be able to feel happy, content and peaceful.

Experience the sound of silence

Wherever you were meditating, before you start medication, make sure that there is no noise in the surroundings. If necessary, you can get up early in the morning when the noise is less or you can use earplugs to ensure that you are not hearing the unnecessary noises. When you hear lesser noise, and when you stand in silence, you will have fewer thoughts and your mind will be able to settle down. This will help you to go deep during meditation.

Find delight in concentration

You will be able to focus more on your meditation at certain points during the meditation practice. Whenever you can focus more, find delight in it. When you can become totally quiet, stable and unified with your mind, find delight in that state and enjoy the stillness and calmness such a practice brings to you. When you can open up and enjoy your meditation, your mind will not think about other distractions and thoughts and it will become calmer. This is a very useful practice to keep your concentration unwavering. When you can concentrate stably and solidly, you will experience deeper meditation and its benefits.

Watch your food

If you want to go deep into meditation, you will need to watch your food. It is not possible to meditate properly after you have oily, non-vegetarian and fried food. When you have very simple and light and healthy food, meditation becomes easier for you. Your food will have an impact on your body and mind and that’s why you have to be careful about your food if you want to go deep in meditation. An ideal diet for better meditation includes grains, fresh fruits, green vegetables, salads and soups. Your food should be light and easy to digests and the food should have high life force, which is present in green vegetables, salads, fresh fruits and grains.

Book your meditation time

You need to fix a meditation time and stick to the timing. If you have discipline to sit down for meditation at the same time every day, it will be easier for you to practice it regularly. It will also show that you honor the practice. Both of them will help you to go deeper into meditation and experience the benefits of deep meditation.
