If you have thyroid, treating that will ensure that you are getting the results of your efforts for weight loss.

You probably already know that you are over 40, you cannot eat like you could at age 20. It is always better to eat more frequently, but eat less in each sitting. It will not only keep your blood sugar in control, but it will also help you to lose weight because when you’re trying to lose weight, you need to eat several meals. If you have any physical issues such as snoring or a pain in the body, it may be very difficult to sleep normally and get the adequate amount of sleep.

When you lack sleep, balance of two hormones, leptin and ghrelin goes wrong. When you are not sleeping as much as you should, ghrelin levels go up and leptin levels go down. It causes more craving. If you are sleep deprived, you are also likely to crave energy foods which generally include more sweet or salt. It shows you how small changes in your routine or sleep can screw up your plan to lose weight and instead can result in weight gain. Your body is also metabolically most active when you sleep. If you’re sleeping less than six hours it may affect your glucose tolerance, which may ultimately result in diabetes.
