No one likes to feel ill or to not feel like themselves because it can disrupt your lifestyle and what you’re doing on a daily basis. It reminds us that we’re not as strong as we like to think we are sometimes, so here are five reasons why you might not be feeling yourself.

not feeling well

Your Sleep Routine Is Non-Existent

Sleep is essential to our health, and we’ve all probably experienced the feeling when we don’t get enough sleep the night before. We’re sluggish, grumpy, and we probably feel a little sick too. If you’re doing those most days, it’s going to really have a negative effect both on your health and on your mental well being. Considering what you do through a typical day, it can exhaust your body and that lack of sleep means that your energy levels are constantly depleted, and your body is running on a small percentage of what it should be on. If you don’t have much of a sleep routine at the moment, then you might want to take a look at how you can bring that back into your priorities. Some people have difficulty getting off to sleep at night, and if you’re a person who finds it hard to fall asleep, then you could always try a few things to help you drift off. These can be wearing an eye mask or investing in blackout blinds. You could try sleep sprays or alternative medicines to ease your mind and get you off to a blissful night’s sleep.

Immune System Is Low

Your immune system is what helps you keep fit and healthy, and when you’re immune system is low, your body can struggle to fight against all the bad bacteria and potential diseases and infections that are out there. And this could be the main contributor as to why you’re not feeling quite right. There’s a lot you can do to boost your immune system up to a healthy point, and that’s through things like moderating your alcohol consumption, quitting smoking, and maintaining a healthy weight as often as you can. You don’t want to be going through life with a low immune system because this can be quite dangerous to your overall health, and you may succumb to infections a lot easier because of it. There are also plenty of things you can take to boost it, and if you’re interested, you look up what is colostrum as an example to try out.

You May Be Feeling A Lot Of Stress

Stress is a big factor in our health, and if we’re experiencing a lot of it, it can really impact our bodies and how fast we age. Stress can come from various points in our lives, from work situations to things in our personal lives that might be playing on our emotions. Some of this stress is something we can’t control, but for the most part, we can definitely do something about it. Try to find ways that you can reduce that stress, whether it’s having discussions with your manager or perhaps cutting out that toxic person in your life.

You’ve Not Had Much Social Connection Recently

We all need social connection because, as humans, it’s what we require. Without anyone to talk to or interact with, we can become a shell of ourselves and keep a lot of thoughts internally, which can be dangerous when you need support. It’s important to make time for your friends and family to check up on them and to also build your relationship with them. Having a strong circle of friends and family is extremely important.

You Need Extra Support

A lot of what we do, we often do it on our own. And although that’s good to be independent, it can also be fairly dangerous if we take on too much, and that amount of work or commitment becomes a struggle. Don’t be afraid to ask for support when you need it, even if you feel like you don’t. Multiple hands are always better than one after all!

So if you’re not quite feeling yourself, then it’s a good opportunity to take some time and think about what could be affecting your health or mental wellbeing. Use these tips as a starting point to figure out what it is.
