Importance of breast cancer detection
For many women there are many horrible diseases. One of the most feared is breast cancer. Breast cancer hits deeper than the fear of death. The fear that most women fear when they think of breast cancer is the fear of being malformed. But most of the problems with the disease can be stopped long before more permanent solutions have to be considered.
Where does breast cancer come from?
Even though there is not an exact cause that has been pinpointed as the direct cause, researchers have made considerable strides in understanding how the disease starts to form. Now that we are learning the secrets that this disease has been hiding from us, we can start to design new medications to reduce the risk that could potentially lower the risk that high risk patients face when considering what could happen with disease.

How to prevent breast cancer?
For many women, maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle is key to preventing this disease. Making sure to eat healthy, have a regular exercise program, and making sure that you are keeping your weight under control are all good places to start. These steps are not only helpful when you are trying to reduce your chances of contracting breast cancer in the future, they are also key factors in preventing many of the deadly disease that are out there.
When it comes to treatment, breast cancer is far more treatable than many of its relatives. Breast cancer is, of course, easier to treat the earlier it is caught. This lessens the amount of surgery that might be needed and gives you a better chance of surviving the cancer itself. Getting screened by a breast examination with a mammography are the first steps to screening for cancer.
The only real way to improve your chances is to make sure and get yourself screened. It is important to remember that around one in every eight women in the U.S. will contract breast cancer. The statistics greatly increase if you has had breast cancer before, women that have relatives within the same generation, those that have inherited the cancer genes, and those who have had many of their family members have the disease.

Self-examination for breast cancer detection
To do a self-examination, you will have to be on your back. Lift your right arm above your head so that the tissue of your breast is as thin and even as possible. Next you take your left hand and start to feel for lumps. Use only the three middle fingers in about a dime-sized circular motions with your fingers. You should be able to easily spot something that is not quite right. Remember to use three or more different pressures while doing this. If you have any questions, you should consult with you doctor so that he or she can help you find the safest pressures for you to use.
Make sure to do you examinations about every other day. This way, you are not over worrying every little bump. This way you can really tell if it is cancer or not because you will know your body.
