Keto diet or ketogenic diet is very popular at present. It is a low carb, moderate protein and high fat diet, which is mostly used for losing weight and improving performance.

Not drinking enough water

When you are following a keto diet, your body burns fat for fuel and in this process your body needs lots of fluids. That is why; you need to drink more water if you are following a keto diet. If you do not drink enough water your metabolism will slow down and you will not be able to lose weight. Water is also essential for you for better circulation of nutrients, eliminating the toxins in your body and helping to burn more fat.

Not eating enough fat

Keto diet contains high amounts of but many people are scared of eating too much fat because they believe that that will make you fat and fat can result in different types of medical problems. But while following a keto diet since you are limiting your carb intake, it is very important to consume more fat. If you are not eating the right amount of fat, it can create problems with your hormone function and metabolism. If you are not eating enough fat, you will feel lethargic due to lack of micro and macro nutrients. Only eating that is not good enough, you need to eat the right kind of fat which include animal fats, olive oil, monounsaturated fats in your diet.

Sleep is important for you because it will help your body to repair itself. If you are not getting enough sleep, it can increase the craving for sugary stuff and the stress level can increase. If your stress level increases, it can affect that the ketones in your body. High cortisol resulting from stress can result in unwanted fat gain.

Eating too much dairy

Dairy products are good for you because they contain low amounts of carbohydrates and high amounts of fat and so they can be considered as a good food source. However, if you are consuming more dairy products, it can lead to overeating. Too much of dairy products, like cheese, can ruin your diet plan. Many dairy products also contain some sugar and that is why you need to read the nutrition label before you buy them.

Too much snacking

You have to be very careful with snacking if you are following a keto diet. This is the easiest way of adding extra and excess calories to your diet. Keto diet has a satisfying effect and so in general you should not crave for snacks but if you’re still feeling hungry, you will need to make some changes in your diet or have snakes in moderation. You can also eat cheese, seeds, avocado and nuts. If you are taking a snack, you will need to do that in moderation and only if you’re feeling excessive hunger between meals.
