Hormones can help you to lose fat and achieve a body which is both healthy and fit. There are some hormones which will help you to lose more fat thereby helping you to lose your overall weight. Let’s find out what these hormones are which will help you to lose more fat.

Ghrelin

Ghrelin is the hunger hormone. It is produced in your stomach and it signals your brain that you are hungry. When you reduce calories to lose weight, it will increase the amount of ghrelin in your body. Even after 12 months of a reduced calorie diet, the levels of ghrelin may stay at the same level. It means that your body never adapts to eating less and so it will constantly send a hungry signal. Because of that, maintaining weight loss is very difficult. If you can decrease the level of ghrelin, then it will be possible for you to lose more fat by reducing the amount of calories your consuming. Intense exercise will decrease ghrelin levels. So, you will need intense exercises to lose more fat and body weight.

Leptin

Leptin is a type of hormone which is known as adipokine. It is release exclusively from fat cells. This hormonal will send a signal to your brain to eat less and burn more calories. The more body fat you have, the more leptin the fat cells in your body will release. However, if you have too much body fat, your body may start to release too much leptin. If that happens, it will result in a condition known as leptin resistance. When this condition happens, your brain will become numb to leptin’s signal.

If you want to increase leptin sensitivity, you will need adequate sleep and more antioxidant rich foods in your diet. Such foods include berries and red and green vegetables. Losing some weight will also help you to increase leptin sensitivity which means the more weight you lose, the more effective leptin will become in your body and as a result you will get a weight loss momentum.

Adiponectin

Adiponectin is another adipokine hormone. However, it is different from leptin. The leaner your body, the more adiponectin your fat cells will release. This hormone enhances your muscles ability to use carbohydrates for energy. It also boasts your metabolism, reduces your appetite and increases the rate in which your body breaks down fat.

It is possible to increase the levels of adiponectin. You will need to move more during the day and you will have to replace carbohydrate in your diet with monounsaturated fats which are present in all lives, avocados and other such foods.

Insulin

Insulin has a vital role in our body. It is also important in recovering from exercise, muscle building and maintaining optimal blood sugar levels. If your body has too much insulin as a result of high carbohydrate intake or because of any other reason, it can inhibit the breakdown in burning of stored fat. The more carbohydrates you eat, the more insulin will be released. You need to optimize the insulin levels in your body if you want to lose fat. Try to get more carbohydrates from vegetables and fruits. You will need to reduce grain and starches in your diet.

Glucagon

Glucagon is another hormone which works directly opposite insulin. Glucagon will break down stored carbohydrates and fats and will release them. Your body can use the released carbohydrates and fats to create energy for yourself. You should eat a protein rich, low carbohydrate meal you will be able to maximize glucagon release in your body.
