When fat deposit happens in your body, you will find them deposited in certain spots in your body. Why does it happen? Let's find out.

Fat storage

We all become fat with ageing although you will find lots of interesting differences based on age and gender. The trouble spots in men and women are different, which means fat deposition happens in different places in case of men and women. Hormones drive the deposition of fat around the pelvis, buttocks and thighs of women. And in case of men, fat deposition mostly happens in the bellies.

Female body

In case of women, the fat deposition is physiologically advantages for them, at least during fragrances. However the same fat storage can be cosmetically not so appealing because they can result in cellulite.

Male body

In case of men, the potbelly is the typical male form of obesity. But it doesn't have any known advantage and rather it can be life-threatening for people.

Early life

Throughout their lives females have a higher percentage of body fat than males. For a 25 years old healthy weight female generally have twice the body fat that healthy weight man have. This starts early in life. From Bart up to age 6, the number and size of fat cells triple in both boys and girls. That results in a gradual and similar increase in body fat.

But after the age of eight, girls begin to get fat mass at a greater rate than boys. This increase may be because of a lower female basal fat oxidation rate. The basal fat oxidation rate is a major of the use of fat to fuel the body at rest. The fat cells expand in size but not in number.

Within six years of age and adolescence, you will find little or no increase in fat cell number in boys and girls in case of healthy weight children, but in case of girls the fat cells size increases. In case of obese children, the number of fat cells can increase throughout childhood.

During Adolescence

During adolescence, both boys and girls see a growth spurt. At this point the rate of fat increase in girls is almost double that of boys. As a result of that girls generally have more and larger fat cells. This is generally seen in the gluteal femoral area, which means pelvis, buttocks and thighs and to some extent in the breasts. Such fat accumulation acceleration generally happens because of changes in the female hormone levels.

After regulations, in case of healthy women, the recommendation of sex-specific fat moralist tops and sometimes decreases dramatically. After adolescence, fat cells in males do not tend to multiply.

Losing fat

It is more difficult to eliminate fat from the pelvis, buttocks and thighs in comparison to other areas of the body. However, women can get a great opportunity of losing fat during lactation. During this time sex specific fat cells increase their fat releasing activity and decrease their storage capacity. Fat storage happens more in the mammary adipose tissue during this time. The fact that is stored around the buttocks, pelvis and thighs of women work as reserve storage for the energy demands during lactation. But at the same time it also creates a problem for the women-they will find cellulite on the hips, thighs and buttocks.
