When you give up alcohol the following things happen-

You will sleep better

Once you give up alcohol, you will be able to sleep better at night. When you drink before bad, it increases Alpha wave patterns in the brain. This is a condition which happens when you are awake but resting. As a result of that, you will have disrupted sleep. Alcohol may help you to fall asleep quickly and deeply initially but after some time it will destroy your sleep quality. After giving up alcohol, you will sleep better and you will get up feeling more refreshed and energised for the next day. You will lose weight

Once you give up alcohol, you will start losing the access weight you have gained. Since alcohol can increase the daily calorie intake without even you realising about it, it may add lots of extra fat and weight to your body. So, it is possible that you may crave for sugar and sugary things. This happens because you are trying to replace one happy making chemical alcohol with another happy making chemical sugar. You should not be surprised if you get the same enjoyment from sugar which you used to get from alcohol. Indulging in sweet things is not bad for you if you do it in moderation and do not consume lots of sugary stuff which is again not very good for your health.

Better complexion

When you give up alcohol, within a few days, you will notice that your skin is looking and feeling more hydrated. You will have a clear and better complexion than before. You will feel more hydrated and your skin will also feel more hydrated because alcohol is a diuretic which makes you urinate more. Alcohol also reduces the production of and antidiuretic hormone in your body. This hormone is important for you because it helps your body to reabsorb water. If you had ruddiness in your cheeks and around your nose, it will start to fade and you will have a glow on your skin. You may also get rid of other types of skin problems like dandruff, eczema and rosacea, if you had any.
