Oatmeal bath

A calming oatmeal bath can be a very good natural hives treatment. For this, you will need to add a cup or two of uncooked oats into a stocking or cheesecloth. Tie it up with a rubber band so that the oats can't leak out. Now put the oats under the running water while filling your bath. Oatmeal is a skin calming goodness and it will infuse your bath with those properties. Oatmeal contains naturally high salicylic acid. The bath will help you by calming the unwanted eruptions. It works for both adults and children. However, while preparing your oatmeal bath, ensure that the water is warm and it's not too hot or too cold because such temperature extremes can make hives worse.

Baking soda

Baking soda can also help you to get relief from hives. Make a paste of baking soda and water and apply on the affected area. It will not only calm hives, but it will also prevent formation of hives patches. Baking soda is known as nahcolite and it contains mineral natron, which contains large amounts of sodium bicarbonate. It has been used for a long time as a soother and cleanser.

To use it, you need to mix a teaspoon of baking soda with some cold water and create a paste and then you need to rub it on the affected area. Let it dry completely and then wash it off you may need to do this a few times a day. You will get immediate relief.

Reducing stress

Stress can definitely cause hives and so if you can manage stress, you'll be able to manage your hives problem. Hives and stress can go hand-in-hand. When you undergo excessive short-term long-term stress, it creates problem with the immune system and when there is a problem with the immune system, your body responds by internally sending out histamine to fend off any possible attack, including stress. Release of histamine can result in hives popping up in various places. It is an allergic reaction to stress. So, when you suffer from hives because of stress, it is a signal for you to chill out.

But how do you get relief from stress and the subsequent hives problem? To get rid of hives, you'll have to reduce your stress as much as possible. There are different effective ways to reduce stress on a daily basis. Yoga, physical exercise, medication, massage, journaling, prayer or any other technique that works for you can be used for relieving stress.
