Eat this
There are few things that you should eat. These are part of your healthy kidney diet. You should eat lots of fruits such as apples, apricot, Graves, blueberries, peach, Asian pineapple, Pearce, plums, watermelon, Rasberries, strawberries etc. You need vegetables such as asparagus, cabbage, red cauliflower, garlic, mushrooms, celery, lettuce, onion, radish, parsley and others. The protein that you need should come from sources like fish, chicken, tofu etc. There are some good foods that you should include in your diet. They are sea salt, rice, olive oil, flaxseed oil, hummus, carob, APO, Oriental, sesame seed, paprika etc.
These are the healthy foods that you can consume even when you are having renal problems. These foods will supply you with the necessary potassium, sodium and phosphorus. Just make sure to consume and normal serving per day. Overeating is always bad even though you are overeating healthy foods.
Do not eat this
If you are suffering from kidney problems and if you want to avoid future kidney problems, you will need to avoid some foods. There are some foods which are really bad for your kidneys. Such foods include red meat and dairy products like milk, cream, butter, yoghurt, ice cream and other premade dairy products. Gluten is also not good for people suffering from kidney problems. So you need to avoid wheat, rye, kamut, oats, barley and spelt. However, you can consume gluten free grains such as rice, corn, millet, amaranth, sorghum, buckwheat and quinoa. You should also avoid all types of alcohol, highly processed foods and sugar.
If you are not already suffering from kidney problems, probably you can eat these foods once in awhile but if you are suffering from kidney problems, you should not touch these foods because they will aggravate your problem.
Monitor regularly
It is very important to monitor regularly to ensure that you are not starting to have any renal problem. Even if you already have weights, monitoring will ensure that you are not aggravating the problem and you are enjoying a healthy life. Specially people who are suffering from kidney problems, they need to ensure that they are consuming potassium, sodium, phosphorus and protein within the healthy limits. A trained nutritionist can help you to find the right diet for yourself and then stick to it.
However, the degree of monitoring will depend on your stage. If you do not have kidney problems, a periodic monitoring will do. But if you are suffering from kidney problems, stricter monitoring may be necessary for you.
You need to get your blood tested first before you accept any recommendation. Blood tests will help you to find out about your present condition and then you can make the necessary changes in your diet to ensure a healthy life for yourself. You can calculate your daily potassium, phosphorus, sodium and protein intake or you can talk to your doctor and take his help in finding the limits.
Fluid
you can take fluid in the form of water; herbal teas such as lemon, ginger, batteries, green tea and others; and vegetable and fruit juices. However, you should avoid fluid in the form of coffee, caffeinated drinks, tea, alcohol, sugary drinks, artificially sweetened sugar free drinks, soda pop and soft drinks.
You need more fluids in your body but it does not mean you should drink the fluids that you should actually avoid. The drinks that you should avoid are unhealthy and toxic for your body and kidneys. They will actually deplete your body of fluid instead of adding more fluid to your body. They also deplete vital nutrients from your body.
