Seeing a small, soft piece of skin hanging in your face, neck, or chest can be unsightly. These are skin tags or warts that are non-cancerous, but make you feel a lot conscious as they appear on your skin, especially on the face and neck. They may appear anywhere in the body, but are more common in areas where there are skin folds, such as those on the eyelids, neck, under the breast, armpits and groin. Most skin tags are harmless, but they can grow as big as 2.5 mm to 5 cm.
The risk factors involved in getting skin tags include obesity, diabetes and aging. Women tend to develop skin tags than men. While you can live having skin tags without causing you serious health problems, rubbing your clothes against it can make you feel uncomfortable. Its visible appearance can also make them look unsightly that will probably make you decide you need to get rid of them.
Considerations when removing skin tags
It is not costly to remove skin tags and you do not have to pay expensively for a dermatologist to remove it for you. Many of them just fall off naturally when the skin becomes dry due to the lack of blood supply. But if you cannot wait for nature to take its course, you can actually eliminate them at home painlessly using natural sources. It is important, however, to make sure that it is a skin tag that you are removing and not some benign or cancerous skin growth. It is still best to have your doctor examine them. Apple cider vinegar for skin tag removal
Using an apple cider vinegar is the most straightforward way of causing skin tags to fall. All you need is to dip a cotton on it and then dab it on the area. It will take at least two to four weeks before the skin tag will finally fall off and each application may cause some stinging that don't last long. Applying apple cider vinegar three times a day is ideal for faster relief.
Use dandelion stem juice
Extracting the juice from the dandelion stem will give you a solution for removing warts, moles, eczema and skin tags naturally. To extract the juice, you need to squeeze the stem to milk out the liquid that you can apply over the skin tag. Allow the liquid to dry on the tags. Applying them three times a day for several days will allow the skin tags to fall. Make sure, however, that you are not allergic to dandelion.
Cover the skin tag with a banana peel
Using the banana peel is an effective way of softening the skin tag until it falls. Cut the banana peel according to the size of the skin tag and place it on top of it. Keep it secure with a tape or a bandage. Leave the banana peel overnight and do this every day until the skin tag finally falls.
Dry out the skin tags with tea tree oil
The anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of the tea tree oil can effectively dry the skin tags. Apply it directly over the skin using a cotton swab and repeat the process several times a day for several days. The skin tag will become dry and will finally fall due to frequent exposure to the tea tree oil.
