You need to eliminate highly refined starches like flour or white rice because they are quickly broken down and turned into glucose which can go into your blood and raise your blood sugar. It means, you should avoid foods that will raise blood sugars. If it is possible eat little or no refined carbohydrates. Instead of that you should eat all, nature and unprocessed foods.

This is another step in reversing your diabetes. Since more sugar is the cause of diabetes or pre-diabetes, you will need to burn more sugar so that it cannot go into your blood and cause diabetes.
Fasting will help you to force your body to burn sugar for getting the necessary energy for running your bodily functions.
