10 reasons you are not losing fat

1. You are eating too many calories

If you are eating too many calories, how can you lose weight and fat? Some people claim that if you avoid carb, you can eat anything you want. That is not true. You need to eat less when you want to lose fat. Without knowing, you eat more calories than you should.

2. You’re looking for a quick fix

You cannot immediately lose all the fat you want, it will take some time. When you get fat, it also took some time. There are no quick fixes. You need to give yourself some time and keep yourself motivated to keep working towards losing fat.

3. You are not eating enough calories

This is completely opposite of a previous point. If you diet too hard and eat too less calories, your metabolism will be shutdown. Very low calories will result in shutdown of your thyroid and that will make losing fat very difficult.

4. You are drinking more protein shakes

Even though protein shakes are good for you when you want protein instantly, but if you want to get ripped and lose fat, you need to stop drinking protein shakes. When you chew and digest solid food, you also lose calories in the process. On the other hand, when you’re drinking protein shakes there is no chewing to be done. Bodybuilding competitors completely cut out shakes when they are training for a competition. They do it for a reason.

5. You are not training hard

Even though you’re trying to lose fat, you are not training as hard as you should. Going to the gym three times a week will not do any miracle and make you lose fat. You need to focus on your workout and choose the workout which will help you to lose fat from your body.

6. You are eating too much fat

If you are trying to lose fat, but at the same time not keeping an eye on your consumption of fat, then it will be impossible for you to lose fat. If you keep adding more and more fat to your body, removing the fat from your body will also need lots of hard work.

7. Too many nuts

If you are eating too many nuts, you can add more and more calories to your body. When you’re trying to lose fat, you need foods which are nutritionally high, but do not add lots of calories. Green vegetables are good for you because they offer high nutrition without lots of calories. Ten almonds or nuts a day should be the limit for you.

8. Too much of cardio

Cardio only cannot help you to lose fat. It can be counterproductive. Too much of cardio can result in overproduction of cortisol, which can cause more abdominal fat besides creating other health issues.

9. Get sleep

When you’re trying to lose fat, you need to get enough sleep. If you do not sleep enough, insulin sensitivity will decrease and the level of cortisol will go up. That will hamper your efforts to lose fat. Sleep deprivation can actually be counterproductive because it leads to fat gain. Sleep provides you with the important growth hormone, which is produced during deep sleep.

10. Too much stress

Besides creating health issues, stress is also bad for you if you’re trying to lose fat. If you’re stressed, your body produces cortisol, which can increase body fat storage. Even if you’re dieting and training properly, you may not be able to lose fat if you are stressed throughout the day.
